Editing Blog: Creating a Voiceover

First I uploaded all of the videos into iMovie, and then placed them in the correct order. Then I made sure all of the clips combined were no more than the 30 seconds allowed. Once they were in the correct order I had to create a voiceover for the closing scene of the commercial. I had never done a voiceover before so I did have to research on how to create one. I selected the closing clip, which was the animated Nintendo Switch logo, and then clicked on the microphone option. I recorded myself and the other two participants saying Nintendo Switch. However it was not loud enough to go over the closing scene. I then decided to record a video of the voiceover on my phone of the participants and I and uploaded to the computer and iMovie. Once I uploaded I detached the audio from the video and placed it over the closing scene. Since the audio was detached from the original video I was able to delete it and keep the audio.

Next, I wanted to add some ambient music in the background to make the commercial relaxed and fun. I wasn't able to add the music straight into the computer either. I followed the same process I did with the voiceover. I recorded the music I wanted on my phone and then uploaded and detached the audio. Also, for the opening scene, I edited it to make the seen brighter and colorful. I did this since there is no camera movement. It also contrasts from the gameplay shots, which are darker and have more movement. I also edited it to create a sense of wonder and excitement. This edit is aimed at the audiences. It further engages them since the first scene in the commercial they see is bright.
