Introduction to the Music Video Project

    For this music video project, I decided to work alone. I'm doing this because I believe it will be more beneficial for me to work alone. Working with other students can be distracting for me as it is easy to get sidetracked. Working alone is also going to help me have more creative freedom. I will not have to sacrifice an idea because of the idea of someone else. Scheduling will not be any issue either. I will be able to work at my own pace and film on the days I am able to. I can organize the video the way I want without worry that another student may not like it. Overall, it allows for more creativeness from my part and allows me to grow in my editing and filming skills. Also, with the current pandemic I prefer to work alone and with the help of my family members to prevent any spread of the virus.

    The song I chose is Kids by Current Joys. I chose this song because it's about growing up. It clearly speaks about how childhood is full of imagination and careless mistakes. As you grow up you begin to lose that imagination. It is very relevant especially with high school students, since we are all growing up and about to enter the real world. The song portrays how nostalgic it is to leave childhood behind. It also expresses how a child always follows their heart and what they desire, but as you grow up you begin to worry and stress about every day situations. This song can be a reflection on our childhood and remind us that we should not be in a hurry to grow up. It also reminds us to keep dreaming no matter how old you may be. I love this song because it truly portrays the tragic beauty of growing up.
