My Nintendo Switch Commercial


    This commercial was the first major project for class and I also did it on my own. I had never filmed or edited anything before. I ran into struggles when in came to putting the commercial together. My biggest challenge was adding the background music and audio. I had to make sure that the audio flowed smoothly and went with the theme of the commercial. This project has taught me a lot about editing.
    For this to be my first commercial, I believe I did a good job. However, now that I look back on it, there is room for improvement. The commercial shows off the product well but I think that it could have told a story. This would have engaged audiences a lot better than now. I would also have shot the scene with the other two participants differently. The scene should have been more interactive with the participants. It would have shown the excitement and fun that the participants are having.
    I have learned quite a lot from this project. The first thing being editing on a computer. I had never edited a video on a computer software before, I was accustomed to using my phone to edit anything. This project has taught me how to create high quality edits for videos and images. It has also taught me how to use my phone to film in high quality. I believed that a camera is needed to have a high quality shot. With the correct lighting and angles, a high quality shot can be created with a phone.

The most noticeable being editing and background sounds. The editing allows the audience to become more engaged with the commercial and the product. Finding Fonts

 Once I returned from my trip, there was a time we were not filming. I took advantage of this and began looking for fonts that would fit our opening sequence. I am editing on iMovie, so I looked into the fonts that are offered on there. I couldn't find any fonts that matched the ideas we had previously come up with. I spoke with my group about the font issue, and we looked into other editing platforms. It turned out that iMovie was the easiest place for all of us to edit. So, I became more open minded about the fonts that we had on iMovie. I started experimenting with the different fonts. To do this, I selected one of the clips from what we had previously filmed and put it into iMovie. Once there, I uploaded the clip into a new project and made sure it was the correct length to display the title. Then, I went to the title and fonts option and tested many different fonts. Commercial Planning

  1. Props - The commercial is about Nintendo Switch the main prop will be the Switch and the Joy-Cons. Other props will include the Nintendo Switch Lite, Nintendo Switch dock, a high speed HDMI cable, the Joy-Con grip, headphones, and the AC adapter.  2. Costumes - The commercial will include three people. The three subjects will be wearing casual everyday clothes. The outfits will most likely be t-shirts or sweatshirts, jeans and leggings, and sneakers.  3. Schedule 10/21/20 - Decide what I will do the commercial on and begin researching for it.
