Filming at the Swap Shop

For my second day of filming I went to my local flea market which is called the Swap Shop. I was only filming one sequence here so only one outfit was needed. Originally I was going to film in the arcade within the main building of the flea market, however there were some mechanical rides outside that were operating so I also filmed there. I went early in the afternoon and my mom and my sisters helped with filming. First, we filmed me and my sister walking away from my mom. This scene shows that the girl is growing up and becoming more independent. We filmed this scene by the entrances to the main building of the flea market. It took us a few tries since there were people walking past so we had to wait for the right moments to film. Next, we filmed an over the shoulder shot of me walking out ot the mechanical rides. This was much easier to film since the camera was much closer to me and people appearing in the background was not an issue. I had previously decided to try to shoot a scene while I was on one of the rides, so my sister and I paid to get on one of the rides. This was difficult to film since there was a lot of movement. We filmed throughout most of the ride to get as many shots as possible in hopes that a few of the shots would be stable enough to include in the music video. We were also only able to pay to go on the ride once so it was vital that we get a good shot on the ride.

Finally, we filmed a shot were I receive a text message from my mom. I decided to do this to emphasizes once again that she's growing up. This is shown in two ways: the fact that she now has a phone and the text that she receives from her mom. We still filmed at the flea market for this scene in order for the background to match the rest of the scenes. This was shot in very few tries but it was hard to adjust the camera from the flea market lighting to the phone's lighting. After this we finished filming at the flea market and headed home to film the last two scenes. We filmed those in the car around my neighborhood. One was of me back in the childhood outfit and sitting in the back of the car while my mom was driving. The final scene was of me driving a car. We did this as safely as we could and only filmed me driving out of my houses' driveway and down the street. With this I finished filming and was able to begin editing.
