Final Day of Filming
Today was our last day of filming! We planned to meet later on in the day at my house once again in order to get darker lighting. That morning we reviewed which scenes needed reshooting and which were still left to be filmed. One of my group mates, Hannah, arrived an hour earlier to film some scenes that the main character had. We reshot some scenes that were not satisfactory and filmed some scenes we missed in the initial filming days. We had missed a close-up shot on my phone as I was texting the other character, Emily, and also a scene of me walking out of my bedroom. Then, the rest of my group arrived and we started filming and reshooting. We also wrote down and printed the scenes we still needed to film in order to keep track of what was being done. First, we shot the scenes that were supposed to use natural daylight. Those scenes were, boiling water in a tea kettle, and the "mother" sharpening knives. For both of these our safety team, that was composed of my older sisters, were on standby and supervising the scenes. Thankfully, nothing happened and we were able to shoot the scenes safely.
Then we focused on the living room scenes. All three characters were involved in these shots. Filming these scenes was a little more complicated since our camera angle ideas kept changing. We also changed some of the dialogue on location because we felt the current script wasn't flowing. We had all agreed that these scenes were the most important because the true thriller aspect of the movie begins to develop. We shot and reshot these scenes for around an hour, trying different angles and movements. The final scenes we filmed were outside. Originally we had planned for it to be later in the day, but decided against it due to safety concerns and since we were filming on school days. We did take advantage of the sunset lighting and filmed outside then. With that we had completed our filming process!
