Starting to Edit

Our filming was abruptly cut short so we decided to start editing. However, right after spring break I went on a last minute trip. I was unable to help with editing. I did not feel that it was okay for my group mates to do the work alone so we worked out a schedule. They would begin editing the scenes for which they had done storyboards for. I would do the same but once I was back from my trip. That way, we were able to move forward and I was still able to contribute. Even though I had limited access to the internet on my trip I was still able to communicate with my groupmates on the progress they were making. We all shared the previous knowledge we had on editing and gave any helpful advice. I also researched different royalty free music that we could use for the sequence.

Finally, one of my groupmates found a website that had eerie music that we all liked. We all looked through it and found different styles of eerie music that could possibly fit our scenes. Since we are all editing separately, this helped us be on the same page and have a smoother editing process. One member suggested for us to use slow motion for certain parts of the film. Even though this we ended up not using this idea, it helped us expand our ideas. We realized that we should think a bit more outside the box if we wanted our film to turn out unique. Since I have not begun editing I have not been able to expand my ideas directly onto the editing software. These past couple of weeks my group mates and I have focused on expanding our knowledge on editing skills and techniques. We also began to carefully plan out the types of angles and shots we wanted for the next time we met up to film. We will not be filming this weekend, but the next.
